How do I maintain my jewellery?

We use a relatively thick layer of gold over the base with an extra protective layer on top to keep the jewellery beautiful for a long time.

To ensure that the gold remains beautiful and shiny for as long as possible, here are some tips:

Do not wear jewellery while showering, swimming or in the sauna. And do not leave it in the bathroom or in a damp room, because condensation can cause discolouration in the long term.
Make-up, hairspray and perfume contain substances that can damage jewelry and even stain it.
Therefore, only wear your jewellery when you have finished showering and/or putting on make-up.
Sleep without jewellery. This can already damage them considerably
Do not wear jewellery during strenuous work. The beauty of most jewellery is not resistant to perspiration and you can also damage or lose your jewellery.
Store your jewellery separately from each other so that the harder gemstones cannot damage the metals (silver and gold on silver) and the soft gemstones. And preferably in a grip bag and in a dark cupboard. This way no light and air can get to it and less oxidation occurs.
Do not expose the jewellery to the sun or too much daylight for too long (in any case store them when you are not wearing them). Gemstones in particular can discolour.
If there is some tarnish or dust or other dirt in the jewelry, clean it with a regular sunglasses cloth or with a damp cloth in lukewarm soapy water with a little (!) dishwashing liquid. You can also use a soft toothbrush, but don't brush too hard, because you can polish the gold layer with it! Then dry them with a soft cloth (NOT a silver cloth!).

How long the gold layer stays on the base metals also depends on the acidity of the skin. The gold layer wears off faster for one person than for another

What is your jewellery made of?

Our jewellery is carefully crafted from high-quality materials such as 24 carat gold plated components and original Swarovski crystals. Each piece is designed by Geneviève (our founder) in Amsterdam.

Are the jewellery nickel-free?

Yes, all our jewellery is nickel-free and therefore suitable for the most sensitive ears.

Does each piece of jewellery come with packaging?

Every piece of jewellery at Le Rêve Amsterdam comes standard in a beautiful, festive box. We can also wrap it for you and/or you can choose to add extra festive, luxury packaging (see the options at the top of this product page). You will also receive a surprise with every order... Your moment! ❤️

Can I return my order?

Yes, you can return within 14 days provided the jewellery is unworn and in its original condition. Exceptions are sale items or gift packaging, which may not be returned. Jewellery that was produced especially for you (e.g. clips or silver/rose-colored jewelry or a specific color stone) cannot be returned either.

For earrings, 1 of the 2 earrings is packaged with a seal ('sluitzegel' written on it). If this seal is broken, the right to return is logically forfeited.
